Avoiding Spam Filters - how to get round signup information and other notices from Evergreen Golf Club

New for 2026 - We are using the Live Tourney tournament management system to send out round signup information.  Since this is a new system it is possible that notices will go to your spam folder or worse, get completely blocked.  To prevent these notices being marked as spam, click on the "Information" link at the top navigation for this web portal site and look for the section on "Avoiding Spam Filters."

Tee Time or Playing Partner Requests: How do I request an Early or Late Tee Time, or request a specific playing partner?

How do I request Playing-Up Tees?

Each time you register for a round, there will be an OPTIONAL question for special requests such as early/late tee time or playing partner.  Please request either an early/late tee time OR a specific playing partner, but not both at the same time (e.g. Please don't request to have both an early tee time and play with Tiger).  We will prioritize playing time requests over playing partner requests.

Special Request - Default Tees – Playing Up

We have several members who are more finding it more comfortable and fun “Playing Up” on shorter tees. This can make the game more enjoyable if your drive isn’t what it used to be and you’re not trying to hit a 5-wood into every green.  You should be hitting an iron (typ. 5-7 iron) into at least some of the Par 4 greens for your second shot if you hit a typical drive. Handicap strokes are automatically adjusted for the different tees. If you’d like to do this, let us know via “Special Requests” when you register, or by email at EvergreenGC@outlook.com. For Thursdays, we will update the default tees for you so it should be automatic each week. For weekend series, it will be an individual setting each weekend, so the Tournament Director will probably need a reminder.

Thursday League

Put a block on your work calendar now for the entire summer (starting late April) for Thursday afternoons!  It's time for the EGC Thursday Golf League.  Sneak out a bit early and get 9-holes and a few beers in before dark.  Click on Thursday League at the top of the page for more info and how to register.

Registration for each round opens up three weeks in advance for each Thursday round. There is an online/automatic wait list. When you sign up, if the round is full you will automatically be placed in a first-come, first-served wait list.

Cancellation: If you can’t play, send us an email to cancel as soon as you know so the next person on the waitlist will be put on the playing list.  You will get an automated email notice if you are moved from the waitlist to the playing roster.

Scoring and Scorecards

Live Scoring:  New for 2026 - EGC will be using Live Tourney for live, online scoring.  As in the past, you must keep both a paper card and use live scoring as described below, and compare and verify your results before submitting.  Live Tourney does not use an app - it is all web based,  You will get links via email and QR codes on the scorecard (Weekends) for your foursome for scoring.

Live Scoring Links, Scorecard Code and QR Code

  • The Event Link is the same link for Signup, for Pairings & Tee Times, and on Tournament Day, for Live Scoring, and the Leaderboard.
  • The links in your email are custom/personalized – they will automatically fill in your information for registration. For Live Scoring on the course, your personal email link will “unlock” your foursome scorecard, no scorecard code needed.
  • You can also always find the signup links for open events by going to https://egc.golfgenius.com, clicking on Weekend Series or Thursday League, and then clicking on the individual Event Link in the Schedule tab.
  • Scorecard Code: If you use the generic link from the website, on tournament day you’ll need a “Scorecard Code” to unlock your scorecard. It will be in the email you receive for pairings and tournament info, and printed on the scorecard for Weekend Events.
  • For Weekend Events, there is a QR code printed on your scorecard that will take you straight to the Live Scoring app.

During Stroke Play tournaments (Weekend Tournaments and Thursday League), one person in each foursome is responsible for entering scores in Live Tourney scoring after each hole while a second person will keep a paper scorecard.  Failure to enter scores for your foursome in Live Tourney scoring during the round may result in a 1-stroke penalty for each person in the group.  Exception: If Live Scoring is not enabled when you tee off, and is not subsequently enabled by the time you complete the 5th hole (check again), you can defer entering your scores until the round is completed.  Live Tourney scoring must be completed within 1 hour of completing your round.

For Match Play, entering scores in live scoring during the round is optional but recommended.  A paper scorecard must be maintained in all match play. If scores are not entered in live scoring during the match, they must be entered in Live Tourney within 1 hour after the round is completed.

Live Tourney Scoring – Final Hole Score – be sure to hit “Submit Scores” after your last hole – whether it’s 9 on Thursdays, 18 on weekends, or match play.  Or at minimum, hit “Next Hole” arrow.  This is what saves/records your final hole score.  If you don’t hit it, the final hole score isn’t sent in.

Paper Card: In addition to the live scoring, each group must keep at least one paper scorecard with all individual scores recorded.  If a pre-printed scorecards are not provided, use a regular course scorecard from the golf course.  The paper card should be kept by any player who is not the live scoring scorekeeper.  Scores must be legible and any corrections made clearly. The card must be signed by the scorekeeper (marker) and by at least one other person in the group (attest).

Each foursome must compare the results on the paper scorecards with the live scoring results at the end of the round to ensure there were no typos entering live score results before turning in the paper scorecard. You would be surprised how rarely there are not any typos in the live scoring. Make sure you always do this carefully!

Signed paper cards must be returned to the tournament director immediately following the round.  If the tournament director is not available, a photo can be sent to EvergreenGC@outlook.com. This must be done within 1 hour after the completion of the round.  Failure to turn in a card (paper or photo) promptly (1 hour) will result in disqualification per USGA Rule 3.3 b (2)

For Thursday 9-hole league, if you choose to play additional holes, someone from your group (or a group after yours) must bring the cards to the tournament director. Do not plan to turn your paper cards in after playing 18 holes on Thursdays, they must be turned in within 1 hour of the completion of your round.  The tournament director will not stick around waiting for you. Cards may be turned in at the course, or frequently, at Black Raven brewing on 95th Street in Redmond.

Match Play: We will not be collecting paper scorecards. Pease send in a photo of the scorecard to EvergreenGC@outlook.com.  See match play instructions for details.

How to view Weekend and Thursday Results on this portal

After a round result is finalized, you can always see the full leaderboard/results from Thursday League and Weekend Series using the Evergreen Golf Club Web Portal - https://egc.golfgenius.com.

Just click on Thursday League or Weekend Events and then on Schedule, and then on your event. If it says "Leaderboard not available" the Tournament Director is still figuring out the payout results on his fingers and toes.

Standings and Stats

Check out the "Standings" and "Stats" section in the Weekend Majors and Thursday League portals.

Payments and Cancelling:

Greens and Tournament Fees: When you register for a Weekend round in Golf Genius, you will be charged for the Greens and Tournament fee. We are required to pre-pay each course for the tee times we have reserved. This will make registration and payment an easy one-step process. For Thursday League, you will be charged the tournament fee, however you will pay the greens fee directly to Willows (rates vary depending on tee time, member card and senior  card rates).

Optional Skins Payments: New for 2026 - When you register for an event in Live Tourney, you will have an option at the time of payment to do a "+1" Add-on for Skins.  This is the ONLY way to pay for skins.  After that, we will not be able to accept payments for Skins (e.g. no Day-Of-Round, or I-forgot-on-the-first-tee).  Since payment is now integrated with registration, rather than a separate email, this should not be a problem.

How to Cancel an event registration: Please send an email to EvergreenGC@outlook.com to cancel a registration. There is no way to Cancel online.  Plus, we need to manually manage the refund if there is one.  If you do need to cancel, please let us know ASAP – the sooner we know, the better. If it’s before the registration deadline, we can offer a full refund (minus credit card fees).  If it’s after the deadline, the refund will depend on whether we can fill your slot or whether the course will let us cut back on the attendee list without charging for the unused tee times.

Did I Already Register for an Event? Who else is Registered?

NEW for 2026: You can confirm if you are signed up, and see who else is signed up, at the Event Link (from email or the web site). At the bottom right, click on the green number beside “Registered.”

Posting Rounds

What is Important to Know:

  1. Evergreen Golf Club will post your scores for all Stroke Play (Weekend and 9-Hole) events, so don't post those or you will be double posting.
  2. For rounds you play on your own, and for EGC Match Play, we strongly recommend posting your rounds using Hole-by-Hole entry on GHIN and it will take care of the "net double bogey" math for you.

If you post your total score instead of hole by hole, be sure to use Net Double Bogey as the limit.  Don't use ESC. It's wrong and it's been out-of-date since 2020. Equitable Stroke Control is no more.  If you use ESC rules when posting you are probably posting a higher score than you are allowed, which is just like adding a few random extra strokes to your score.

Do it the easy way - Just use the Hole-by-Hole score entry in the GHIN App or web page, and it will automatically adjust for Net Double Bogey for you. It takes less than a minute.

Hole-by-Hole entry of each hole score is pretty quick.  This is a lot easier than figuring out your Course Handicap from the GHIN app, then figuring out where you get dots, then figuring out the max score on each hole, and actually getting it all correct.   If you do want your Course Handicap, use the GHIN App.

What is Net Double Bogey? Starting in 2020, WHS introduces the concept of Net Double Bogey for your maximum hole score.  What does that mean?  It means you simply figure ou the strokes (dots) you are allowed on each hole, add par, and add two.  On a par 3 where you get one stroke, you get 3+1+2 for a max of 5.  On a par 5 where you get two strokes, you get 5+2+2=9 strokes.  Simple so far, right?

But what if you have to figure out the dots yourself?  First, look up your Course Handicap on the GHIN App on your phone on the DAY of the Round.  If you have to figure out your Course Handicap from your Handicap Index manually, it's a lot more complicated than it used to be before 2020. There's a new formula starting in 2020 under WHS.  Not only do you have to multiply by slope, but then you have to subtract Course Rating from Par and then subtract that number from the old course rating.  Trust me, without the formula in front of you and a calculator, you will probably screw it up. So look up Course Handicap in the GHIN App on your phone.  And by all means, don't just use your Handicap Index, it's usually several strokes different.

Next, apply the dots on the scorecard to the holes in handicap order (using the Handicap row on the scorecard).  Make sure all the dots are on the right holes.  Now, for each hole, add par to the dots, and then add two more strokes - that's the maximum score.  Make sure to use the maximum when you add up your scores if it applies.  It's not the same for every hole.

That sure is a lot of work; isn't there an easier way?

I'm glad you asked. First, for all EGC Stroke Play events (Weekend Majors, Thursday League, etc.) we will post for you and the software will make the adjustment. You don't have to worry about this for any EGC events where we post scores for you.  Just record your Gross scores in Live Scoring and on the scorecard.

Whenever you post yourself, (Casual Rounds and EGC Match Play events) just use the "Hole-by-Hole" link on the GHIN App or web site, enter your full scores for each hole (3 at a time) and you are done.  It will do all the math for you. (For EGC Match Play - although you have a handicap reduction for the Match, for posting you post full Gross scores).
